Who We Are

Bluestem Education Guild is a 501(c)3 non profit serving over 50 families and nearly 200 children.

Currently, Bluestem Education Guild facilitates two parent-led Charlotte Mason homeschool co-op chapters, both meeting in Kearney, Nebraska.

From Co-op to Collective to Guild

  • 2018 - 2020

Seven families met as a Charlotte Mason co-op in the basement of a local church to share the responsibilities and joys of educating their children in a community setting.

  • 2021 - 2023

The burgeoning community moved to a larger facility and grew to serve alongside more families.  Growing in the Charlotte Mason philosophy, they began using her methods to teach, including adding the infamous Feast Cycle, a rotation of short classes showcasing more of Charlotte Mason's teachings.

  • 2024 - 2026

In 2024, Christine Kremer, Hannah Cone, and Sara Holmquist began the process of making the co-op into an official nonprofit. Julie Quaring and Lisa Hajda were quickly brought on and the board worked through the challenges along with the leadership teams to add another chapter to the community.

  • 2026 - Present

As our community grew into multiple co-op chapters, retreats, events, and educational opportunities, we updated our name from Living Feast Collective to Bluestem Education Guild to better reflect the broader organization we were becoming while honoring our commitment to deep-rooted, foundational education. As part of this transition, Julie Quaring moved from the Board of Directors into the role of directing the Larkspur chapter, allowing her to focus on supporting the families and community of Larkspur.
